RALEIGH, N.C. – The 2020 Shaw University football schedule has been officially unveiled Tuesday, which includes four home games at the George Williams Athletic Complex.
Shaw opens the 2020 campaign Sept. 5 for its 39th meeting with Hampton. This will mark the second meeting between the two teams in the last three years.
The Bears then continue its non-conference schedule with another road test at Miles, the defending Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) champions on Sept. 12. The two-game road trip closes out non-conference action in 2020 on Sept. 19 when Shaw hosts is home opener against Mars Hill, which will mark the programs second-ever meeting.
On Sept. 26, Shaw travels to Lincoln (Pa.) for its Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) opener before traveling to Richmond, Va. to face the Virginia Union Panthers on Oct. 3.
Next, Shaw returns home to host division foe Fayetteville State on Oct. 10 in its Southern Division opener at the George Williams Athletic Complex. The Bears then play at Livingstone on Oct. 17 before hosting homecoming on Oct. 24 versus the Golden Bulls of Johnson C. Smith.
On Halloween (Oct. 31), Shaw takes on Winston-Salem State at the George Williams Athletic Complex in its home finale and senior day while on Nov. 7, the Bears will close out the 2020 season with the fifth annual Raleigh Classic against rival Saint Augustine's also at the George Williams Athletic Complex.
All home games are played at the George Williams Athletic Complex on the campus of Saint Augustine's University located at 1315 Oakwood Avenue, Raleigh, N.C. 27610.
