Custom Search Langston University was voted the Central States Football League team to beat in 2013, as the Lions received six of the nine first place votes in the 2013 CSFL Preseason Poll. The poll is comprised of the league's coaches and sports information directors.
Langston tallied 38 total votes, giving them a seven-vote advantage over second place Bacone College, who earned 31 votes. Texas College finished in third place with 18 votes, just a vote ahead of two teams. Southwestern Assemblies of God University (Tex.) and Wayland Baptist University (Tex.) both received 17 votes to put them in a tie for fourth place. Oklahoma Baptist, who is returning to the gridiron in its first season of play since 1940, rounds out the six-team league with 14 votes.
During the 2013 season, six teams will compete for the CSFL title, including three each from Oklahoma and Texas. The CSFL is comprised of Bacone College, Langston University and Oklahoma Baptist University from Oklahoma and Southwestern Assemblies of God University, Texas College and Wayland Baptist University from Texas.
